As one travels from Vagamon on the Moolamattom road, nestled in the lap of hillocks dotted with tea bushes, a sprawling campus spread over 30 plus acres of land: the DCSMAT Group of institutions. This group of institutions promoted by DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and co-promoted by DC Books, is a tribute to the entrepreneurial zeal and visionary leadership of the late DC Kizhakemuri, a teacher, writer, publisher, social activist, and freedom fighter, who singlehandedly created the biggest revolution in the Indian publishing industry with the formation of DC Books in 1974. DCSMAT group of institutions comprises of DC School of Management and Technology and DC School of Architecture and Design, both co-located in this serene environment imparting world class education.
DC School of Management and Technology was established in the year 2002 with the aim of imparting high-quality management education in Kerala. Following the success of the MBA programme, the institution began offering undergraduate programmes, namely B. Com and BBA courses. In 2014, the institution decided to commence architecture programme. Thus, was born DC School of Architecture and Design offering both B. Arch and BA Interior Design. The campus is currently a home for about 500 students under both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes affiliated to the courses under MG University. Both these institutions have carved a niche for themselves in their respective fields of education, through the academic rigour and extracurricular activities organized. The Gurukulam system of education mingled with a high-tech campus offering ITC enabled education supported by 24 hour Wi-Fi connectivity, has ensured that our students excel in whatever they choose to do.
With a stress on all aspects of a student’s evolution, there is equal emphasis on academics, overall development of students and co-curricular activities, thus making the campus a ‘happening’ place. The campus prides itself on conduct of its mega events; be it ‘Luminance’ – the management festival conducted by DCSMAT Vagamon or ‘72Hours’ Workshop conducted by DC School of Architecture and Design, the programmes had pan India representation, making the campus a go-to destination for students during these programmes.
DC School of Management and Technology also has a city campus in Trivandrum, similarly situated in the 75-acre picturesque KINFRA Film and Video Park, Kazhakuttam. DCSMAT Trivandrum offers MBA programme in Trivandrum, affiliated to Kerala University and follows the same model as the Vagamon campus.
DCSMAT group of institutions continue to set benchmarks for themselves in their quest for excellence.
