VAGAMON, KERALA: The deteriorating condition of a section of the Elappara–Vagamon road has raised concerns over connectivity to one of Kerala's popular hill destinations, particularly as the route is widely used by tourists travelling through the High Range region.

A recent report has highlighted the poor condition of an approximately one-kilometre stretch near Bonami Bridge on the Malayara Highway, where motorists are reportedly facing difficulties due to deep potholes and waterlogging.

The Elappara–Vagamon route is an important approach road for visitors travelling to Vagamon and is also connected to the wider Thekkady–Munnar–Vagamon tourism circuit. The condition of the damaged stretch has reportedly created particular difficulties for two-wheelers and smaller vehicles.
